Oldies and Newbies

DARLEEN and her 7 year old FRIEND!!

On Monday at our CMQG meeting, I spoke with Darleen Dewar for a bit.  In the conversation she talked about sewing with her little friend who was spending a few hours at Darleen's house.  Initially I think, she was wondering about what to do to entertain and fill their time together

As we spoke, Darleen pulled a quilt top our of her bag that her young friend had finished while visiting.  They had obviously solved the "what to do" question. As well, this was FIRST time using a sewing machine!  Darleen who is a good teacher mind you, was right there giving advice, but the sewing was done by this 7 year old talent who will soon to be 8.

"WOW" I said, "look at those corners, perfect joining".  Let me show you this little tyke's squares and how well they came together in this lovely top.

Now let me show you the proud teacher who rightly so, is happy with her student and hoping things continue in the sewing line!

Congratulations to Darleen and to her young friend (whose name I didn't think to ask for), on a lovely job!!
