We've been collecting I Spy patches to make a great piece of Wall Art for the new School. The school opened last week, so we got in to see the space where our wall quilt will be. We are making a hexagon I Spy Quilt with black triangles. Besides the 300 hexagons, there will be splashes of the colors in it too to accent the colors of the school. The quilt still has another day (or two) of work to do, but we'll get some help from members on this coming Monday.
Architect's colors. We matched accent fabrics pretty closely, don't you think |
Ann O. working on cutting out fused letters for the Schools name. |
JoAnn G. cutting out 600+ black triangles |
Kathy F. working on the special accent colored triangles. |
Joan B. has a wonderful place for us to sew. She's sewing those triangles onto two sides of the Hexagons |
Don was sewing the triangles on each side too. He needed a bit of a repair mid way through. Anyone want a drop of oil? |
JoAnn G. adding a final whimsy touch to the School's Name Block before giving that final pressssssss. |
It's mid-afternoon. We are placing all the patches in a pleasing order. |
