A VISIT WITH OUR SISTER GUILD

To Miramichi we went!

On Thursday, May 9th, 16 quilters from Cottonmill Guild drove to Miramichi to spend a glorious day at the Seaman's Memorial Hospital...no, not as patients, but as quilters, with our Sister Guild!

We arrived around 10am to an enthusiastic welcome, yummy muffins, great coffee and warm personalities!

The fun began (after our coffee break) with Ursula, our teacher of the day, having us choose a precut kit...what a spoiler...and sitting at our sewing machines to start our MYSTERY project.  Here some of us are IN ACTION...or semi action.  (I obviously didn't succeed in getting every ones photos-my apologies).

Our teacher getting right in there!

Lots of smiles all around, right Rhoda, Phyllis and Peggy?

Kathy with Margaret, our "ironer"

Miramichi even spoiled us with an ironing station that Margaret manned protectively as an expert pressor!  Thanks again for that.

We had a LOVELY lunch with a starter of fresh salad, then chicken a la king on a patty shell, with a yummy dessert of white cake with lemon or brown sugar sauces.  Absolutely fabulous!  And,...we were served and had no dishes to do.  What a spoiling day!!

And here are some of us with our projects...thrilled to have a finished project to go home with!

A BIG THANK-YOU!!!!

YAHOO MIRAMICHI!!

A HUGE thank you to our talented, inspirational, funny, warm, inviting Sister Guild our Miramichi friends, from all of us.  It was a lovely day, with great food, a super project, a parting gift of strips in a jar, AND FUN, FUN, FUN!!

That is all for now folks, I will add more photos if people want to send some, but I am sure that you get the idea of what a great day we had.
Quilts to you!

  1. Show & Tell was amazing. The idea of having a 'sister' guild was a wonderful idea. We have made some new friends and have seen some new and interesting projects. Everyone is very willing to share ideas and talents. Thanks to the Miramichi ladies - it was fun. LB
