A Wedding, A Baby and an "I Still Don't Like It UFO"
Even though it's summer and time to slow the machine down a little, I've carried on when it's been below 25. We have a family wedding and a baby coming - not the same household - so to the basement I went.
Connie F. did one very similar to my wedding gift but I added trees to mine. I saw a picture on line with the trees added and loved it. The lighter spots is the sun shining through the trees.
The baby quilt is a free Moda pattern called "Links".
And finally, the almost finished one I still don't like. It started out as a jelly roll race where I just used whatever batiks I had - really hated it then. I raw edge appliqued the black flowers and grasses - a bit better but still not it! I free motion quilted on my domestic down the stems and through the leaves - still not it! Threw it on the quilter and free motioned the rest of the quilt and I'm not in love!! Sometimes it just doesn't matter what you do but I did get to practice lots of techniques.
If anyone else has some projects to share, I'd love to post. If you like, include your process, any tricks you learned along the way or any frustrations that took a few attempts. A good story or chuckle always enhances our work.
Hope to see you all in September!
