APRIL MEETING OF CMQG

Today, our Coordinator Gail Mitchell was back from her "snowbirding" winter, and chaired our meeting with thanks to Gwenda Mattinson for filling in for her.

A highlight for we "older" quilters, is that Gail's 5 year old granddaughter was also with us today:

Aurora - hard at it!!!!  Love to get them early.

One of our Members Frances Seca had a house fire early in the fall, and lost pretty much everything, including her sewing room contents.  So, we had a "build Frances' fabric stash day", and I must say it was both moving and rewarding!!

Gail talking with Frances about the loss.

Some of the "ours to yours" stash giveaway for Frances.

A heartfelt thank-you from Frances to the Guild!

After the meeting portion of the day, we had a short but fun Show and Tell.  The photos follow, for you to see.  We had 43 members there today, so many are away.  Watch for more returning friends next month, maybe some have even been sewing.

Following Show and Tell, Jennifer Speedy organized people for her committee's charity workday.  Some of us did our work at Guild and some of us brought it home to work on and deliver next month!  Jennifer as always, organized well.

And...that is all folks!

See you next time,
Kathy Feltmate...CMQG Blogger

  1. What a great meeting. I was pleased that Aurora made it most of the way through the morning before realizing she was hungry.

I was thrilled with the response from our members to help one of our own. And I hope that we get lots of sewing and kits made for the community projects. I have been meaning to make some of those aprons. Such an easy project.

  2. It was great to see everyone joining as a group to help others less fortunate. It truly was wonderful to be able to share with one of our members who suffered a terrible loss. That's what quilters do best! I especially enjoyed seeing a futurequilter amongst us. Way to train them young, Gail. Show & Tell was lovely too. Lucy
