October's Show & Tell Included Lots of Colour
The trees of autumn weren't the only things full of colour this month-yesterday morning brought all kinds of beautiful, colourful projects by our members.
Brenda C. expanded her embroidery knowledge through a recent course and made this lovely runner and matching napkins complete with rings.
Estella M. brought 3 quilts for our show today, all in autumn colours. Beautiful work, Estella.
Constance H. also been a busy quilter. Today she showed us three recent projects. The first is her fall pumpkins table runner - so bright & happy.
The second is a sweet baby quilt all in chickadees, pussywillows and eggs.
Constance's third quilt is "Hearts & Kisses" This quilt and the one above were hand quilted in big stitches.
Kathy H. shared her "quilt" carrying bag that she created from a
pattern named "Mondo". What a great bag with multiple uses.
Cecile G.'s gorgeous block of the month quilt called "Gossip in the Garden". She pointed out the beautiful custom quilting by Joyce N.
One of June G.'s covid projects. With all the applique and hand quilting, it certainly would pass the hours. Lovely work, June.
Don C. has finished another lovely comfort quilt that is sure to be enjoyed by someone soon. Don pointed out that Ann had assisted him in the colour choices - teamwork pays off.
Well, Mary F. claimed this quilt was to be a scrap buster - maybe it didn't use as many scraps as she wanted but the chickens sure are cute.
A lucky little girl is about to receive a gorgeous gift of an "I Spy" quilt from Myrna T.
The backing is flowers and fairies - so pretty
Charline W.'s "Twisted Ribbons". The black really makes the colours pop.
This striking table topper named "Shadows" was sewn by Jo Ann G. Love the dragon flies.
Joyce N. quilted this lovely donation to the Tiny Homes project. She didn't share the name of the person who made this top but she did remark that a lot of the fabrics included were the same as the ones in her stash. Also included below is the beautiful backing.
Jennifer S. created this summery garden of flowers. Lots of Jennifer's favourite blue colour.
Cecile G. made 3 poppy quilts which she is donating to the Veterans' Hospital. Three fellow quilters are quilting them and Cecile hopes to have them ready prior to November 11. This one was quilted by Joyce N.
And this month's artistic project was rope bowls taught by Marj D.
