THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

It was a little chilly this morning but all our hearts were warmed by the generosity shown by our fellow members.

So many quilts and so much clothing, knitting, coffee and condiments, cleaning supplies and a cash donation - all for the Fredericton Homeless Shelters.  Two SUV'S jammed full were gratefully accepted by Warren Maddox, Executive Director and Tina Noble, Assistant Director.  Warren mentioned that both the male and female residents  really enjoy the hominess that the quilts make to their beds.  He also mentioned that when a resident transitions out to their own apartments that they get to take a quilt with them.

There were also many donations of bags, calendars and small Christmas items passed on to Cecile G. this morning for the Meals on Wheels Christmas dinner project.  Cecile generously donates a lot of time each year gathering items to make these dinners special for each recipient.  She is very grateful for all the help she receives and is happy to report that the Guild's members made over 300 bags and many, many mug rugs.

The shelters and Meals on Wheels weren't the only ones receiving this morning.  Jennifer S. handed out gifts to all who showed up, each containing best wishes, a homemade cookie, Christmas poem and a puzzle.  Thank you for preparing those, Jennifer.  The cookie was yummy!

Following are some pictures that were taken this morning.  Not all turned out as well as hoped but here some of the morning's festivities,

Jennifer S and Evelyn M were already to receive donations and give out treats.

And then it started.....

Warren Maddox pulling the name of the winner of the gift basket - which turned out to be Pam W.
Congratulations, Pam.

And Tina Noble receiving the cash donation and a treat!

Thank you to everyone and happy holidays to all!
